CILS Exam Preparation
Personalised support beyond exam practice
Personalised support beyond exam practice
For CILS exam preparation, I use official-style exam materials as a starting point, but lessons are not limited to completing past-paper exercises.
For example, for CILS B1 Cittadinanza, the textbook "Percorso CILS B1 Cittadinanza" provides useful exam-style practice. However, many students also need targeted support with the language they need to perform well in the exam: topic-specific vocabulary, grammar, sentence structures, speaking confidence and written production.
This is where I add personalised materials. I select suitable readings on common exam topics, identify recurring vocabulary and themes, and create extra activities to help students understand, practise and actively use the language required for the exam.

Building vocabulary and grammar together
My aim is not only to help students recognise vocabulary, but to help them use it.
This means we work on:
-
Topic vocabulary: students build a strong word bank for themes such as healthcare, the environment, public services and everyday life in Italy.
-
Functional language: students learn how to ask for information, explain a problem, give an opinion, compare situations and make a complaint politely.
-
Grammar in context: grammar is reviewed through the topics students are studying, so it becomes immediately useful for speaking and writing.
What students gain
This approach helps students prepare for the CILS exam in a more complete way.
They do not simply practise test papers. They build the language needed to understand the topics, answer questions, write more clearly and speak with more confidence.
I offer personalised CILS preparation that combines exam practice with targeted vocabulary, grammar and topic-based materials, tailored to the student’s level, needs and exam goals.
