Personalised support for AQA and Edexcel students

How I add value beyond the textbook

For GCSE Italian preparation, I use a structured course book, "Preparazione al New GCSE in Italian", together with the syllabus requirements from the main exam boards, including AQA and Edexcel.
GCSE topics can sometimes feel broad or difficult for students to use actively. For this reason, I create extra materials that break each topic down into manageable language goals.

Example: Cinema and TV

For this topic, I created extra materials to help students use the vocabulary actively in speaking and writing.

The aim was to connect vocabulary, grammar and exam skills in one clear, practical topic.

Learning goals

I start each lesson with clear learning goals linked to the GCSE topic and exam requirements. This helps students understand the purpose of each activity and see how vocabulary, grammar and exam practice fit together.

What students gain

This approach helps students build confidence step by step.

They learn:

  • topic-specific vocabulary;

  • useful phrases for speaking and writing;

  • grammar in context;

  • how to answer exam-style questions;

  • how to express opinions and preferences;

  • how to write more structured responses;

  • how to use Italian actively rather than just recognise it.

I offer personalised GCSE Italian preparation that combines textbook work, exam-board requirements and tailored materials, so that each student can strengthen the areas they most need to improve.
